Criminal Minds Season 12 Finale Review

Criminal Minds Season 12 Finale Ended With A Bang Of A Cliffhanger !!!

I think I speak for most fans when the season 12 finale of Criminal Minds ended with the craziest cliffhanger I've ever seen !!!. 

It has been many seasons since the show did a cliffhanger to end a season. But it worked and it was brilliant. 

But first, let's talk about the episode as a whole. 

From the very first seconds of the episode, it had been on my toes. JJ and Reid at the prison (AJ Cook) (Matthew Gray Gubler) In the room with Cat Adams (Aubrey Plaza). The whole scenes between them were intense and full of many shocking twists. 

Of Course, we could expect Reid (Gubler) and Cat (Plaza) to continue from where they left off in season 11. 

The scenes of them in the prison and into Cat Adams (Plaza)  mind, were great. Each scene brought more shocks and twists throughout the entire episode. 

I was honestly not expecting everything that happened in the first part of the episode. From Cat knowing everything about Reid's life and bringing up his dead girlfriend Maeve, Cat and Lindsey been lovers. It was all so draw-dropping awesomeness.

The other shocking twist I loved in the episode was the race against time the team had to find Reid's mother Diana (Jane lynch)  As well as her kidnapper Lindsey Vaughn (Gia Mantegna) Both recurring roles on the show throughout the seasons. 

(Mantegna) Vaughn Was a great twist to the finale storyline. She did an amazing job of playing a psychopath killer and Lesbian lover. It was also great to see her acting alongside her father again (Joe Mantegna) David Rossi. The two always look great on the screen alongside one another. 

The best scene of the whole episode for me was the prison scene between Reid and JJ (Gubler & Cook) Of course knowing the friendship between the two characters it was only a matter of time before we saw a sentimental scene between them, After all with Reid been locked up in jail and JJ not handling it well. It was a great scene to see them in an emotional scene. 

JJ telling Reid that if she was in the same position that he was and there was a threat of her life she would do whatever she had to, too survive.

Then we get to the team moments of the episode. The team saving the day, finding Diana Reid (Lynch) and of course showing Lindsey (Mantegna) what Cat (Plaza) is like and using her. And the beautiful reunion between Reid and his Mother brought tears to my eyes. 

But we all knew that was not the end just yet. If you didn't have that uneasy feeling in your stomach while watching then I'm guessing the final minutes of the episode had you losing your mind. 

After the sweet reunion between Reid and His mom. You see Emily (Paget Brewster) disappears into her office to see an old friend and fellow team member Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) Were things just got crazier. 

Morgan filled the team in on some information he had on Mr. Scratch, we knew would, of course, make an appearance at some point.

The final two minutes of the episode were the most important, the team knowing they were going into a trap but a trap they were not prepared for. I am still in shock from the scene that happened. 

As the cars are driven off the road to spikes piercing there tires a truck coming out of nowhere and hitting both SUV.

It is defiantly true what all the fans are saying on social media. WHO WILL SURVIVE. 

That for sure is a question we will all be asking for several months until the show returns for its 13th season in the fall. 

I hope none of the six characters involved in the car incident die. Criminal Minds is the show known for never killing its main characters I hope that stays that way. But for now, all we can do is sit and wait. I for sure cannot wait to see what season 13 brings. 

It was a great end to a great season.
