Criminal Minds season 15 finale "Face off" and " And In the end" A sweet goodbye
Criminal Minds finale Review and Goodbye
The final ever episodes of Criminal Minds
A tearful heartwarming ending to all endings!
It's hard to put into words what these episodes meant to me! after almost a decade of watching the show, I had to do as many others did and say goodbye to one of the longest-running TV crime dramas of all of its time. Criminal Minds
Wednesday evening viewers tuned in for the last two ever episodes of one of the USA's longest-running crime shows, Criminal Minds. With its 15th and final season, It was full of love, laughter, death, explosions, old faces, and lots of tears! The characters who had been on our screens for 15 seasons and 324 episodes. (AJ Cook) Jennifer Jareau, (Paget Brewster) Emily Prentiss ( Matthew Gray Gubler) Spencer Reid (Kirsten Vangsness) Penelope Garcia, (Joe Mantegna) David Rossi. (Aisha Tyler) Tara Lewis, (Daniel Henney) Matt Simmons, (Adam Rodriquez) Luke Alvez
Lots and twist and turns saw the BAU doing what they do best negotiating and outsmarting the Unsub or so they believed!
My favorite scene from episode 9 was seeing Rossi (Mantegna) meeting Lynch (Mosley) in the woods to talk with him, JJ (AJ Cook) been nearby with that sniper gun was something diffidently waiting for! (cook) using the words "Give a reason to shoot you"
The most exploding part of the episode was the part when the house blew up leaving Lynch (Mosley) his mother Roberta Lynch ( Sharon Lawrence) and others dead, leaving what the team thought was the end of Lynch family.
The episode that was full of emotion, flashbacks, and pure heartbreak were, of course, the final ever episode written by showrunner Erica Messer and cast member Kirsten Vangsness " And In the end" was bittersweet and a ride of a lifetime!
From the start of the episode of Reid ( Gubler) Collapsing due to his head injury in the field to the sweet moment of Rossi (Mantegna) deciding to retire and the women reliving there moments from their girls evening around the round table, the episode did not fail to disappoint in giving fans some serious emotional flacks backs and scenes they had waited to see.
As Reid (Gubler) thought for his life in hospital, the dream sequence of him reliving and been visited by previous beloved characters and Unsubs was a tribute to the fans of the show from the start to end! seeing old faces of Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), Hotch (Thomas Gibson), Elle (Lola Glaudini), and Morgan (Shemar Moore) with an old scene from the shows first season, to the ghosts of Strauss (Jayne Atkinson), Foyet (C. Thomas Howell and Maeve (Beth Riesgraf) greeting Reid (Gubler) guiding him through his memories and back to life.
There were many moments I found myself tearing up throughout this episode and moments I found myself shocked staring at my screen with a pain in my chest.
Of course with all the fun moments, the team still had a job to do and that was hunting down Lynch, Him targeting Rossi and the team was just another thrill to add to the episode, Lynch impersonating an agent and kidnapping Rossi's wife Krystall (Gail O'Grady) was the punch line of feelings!
The team rushing to save Krystall (O'Grady) and get Lynch (Mosley) was one of the best scenes in the history of the show of 324 episodes.
"There are things about this jet none of you know about that jet" Prentiss (Brewster) trusting in Rossi (Mantegna) to come up with a great plan.
To the jet been one of the most memorable parts of the show, to it having a hidden gun compartment was, of course, such a David Rossi (Mantegna) touch. With Rossi shooting Lynch (Mosley) and been shot himself it didn't take long for the team to come into action. As Lynch starts down the runway the team goes full force at him. leaving only one choice for JJ (Cook) to shoot a flair gun sending the jet and Lynch up into flames.
Seeing the jet go up into flames, was the moment it hit me that it was truly the ends of all ends of the show and the team.
Reflecting on the last part of the episode, everyone gathering at Rossi's (Mantegna) house leaving everyone to believe he was retiring to it is, in fact, Garcia's (Vangsness) leaving party! that was the shock and heartbreak of the episode to me, the person that hated change and hated for any of the team to leave was the one saying goodbye and forwarding her journey away from the BAU
Watching the team give speeches and dance and have fun was a heartwarming and loving gesture to the show itself and a goodbye to the beloved characters and cast.
The end scene of the show, Garcia (Vangsness) working her final case with the team and seeing them off giving each of them a hug at the round table to waving goodbye as they all entered the lift, to seeing her empty office and writing a post-it and hiding it in the desk was the most beautiful, heartbreaking scene, but the most beautiful way to end the end of all endings of the show.
This show has touched millions of people's lives all over the world for 15 years and I'm glad I got the opportunity to send almost 10 years watching this show, it will be truly missed by us all.
Here's to a final "Wheels up"
