Interview with Executive Producer Harry Bring From Criminal Minds
Interview With Executive Producer Of Criminal Minds
I got the opportunity to interview Harry Bring again this time what we can expect from the upcoming 13th season of Criminal Minds
Since
the last time we spoke, You got a promotion to Ex Producer and
criminal Minds got renewed for its thirteenth season.
What
does your new role as Ex Producer entail compared to when you were
an ex-co producer?
HB:
No different duties or responsibilities actually. It's more a title
promotion reward from the studio for my performance the last
7 years.
What
can we expect from season thirteen of Criminal Minds?
HB:
More great story-telling from the writers and great execution by our
directors. Excellent profiling of serial killers. There
are always new real crimes and events to fuel our writer's minds.
The show saw some new changes again starting the season with Criminal
Minds Beyond Borders star, Daniel Henney joining and Damon Gupton
leaving. As much as I'm going to miss Damon, Can you give us any
enlightenment on what we can expect from Henney's character?
HB:
We will learn about “Simmons” personal life in (1304) and the team will gain from his unique FBI talents we used on our “sister”
show
(Harry Bring -EX Producer -Criminal Minds)
Can
you tell us about the new writers who have joined the show this
season?
HB:
Chris Barbour comes to us via Beyond Borders and The Original CSI.
Lots of crime show story writing experience. Chris' first episode
(1304) Is mind-boggling, Chris
takes us into the mind of an Unsub whose mind was damaged from
childhood abuse.
Season
13 will see the season end with its 299th episode are we
going to get a fourteenth season to get the 300th episode
or is too early to tell?
HB:
Too early to know. We have speculated both for scenarios. CBS could
add a 23rd episode (300) to this 13th season
for sure but they may not have room in their airing schedule. Because
most all our cast deals are set through a potential 14th
season. It Is easy to believe with CM's continued ratings success in
season 13 that a pick up for season 14 would launch with a BIG 300! My
bet would be getting another season and premiering with a 300th
episode #Historic
Where
does your love for bacon come from?
HB: I
can't really remember. Being raised reform Jewish, bacon was allowed
in our house in moderation. My mom did use bacon a lot in her
cooking. I
must say that my bacon fetish has been enhanced more by social media
than in real life. If
I ate as much bacon as people think I do, my arteries would be so
clogged there would be no room for blood. Heh heh heh
The football
season is just about to start up are you ready to support your
favorite team?
HB:
My love for American football, primarily the University of Southern
California Trojans started with my daddy taking me to a Trojan game
in 1954. I
was hooked to football and in particular the Trojans from that day
on. I
have purchased season tickets for USC football since 1965 (52 years)
and as my family has grown so has the amount of seats/tickets. I
started with 2 seats and now have 6. Granddaughter Ava is hooked too.
As of this Interview. USC won its first game. YAY!
(Harry Bring with Granddaughter Ava at Trojans game)
The season finale ended with a big cliffhanger leaving fans on the edge
for there seats all summer, Can you share any little details with us
on what's to come.
HB:
We will deal with Damon Gupton leaving the show (Sad for us) and
honor Damon as a wonderful person and talented FBI profiler. We
also will introduce “Simmons” (Daniel Henney) right out of the
box. It will be a seamless transition and Simmons will bring his own
set of skills to the team.
Describe
season 13 in a sentence.
HB:
Criminally Adventurous and SCARY!
Tune in CBS 10/9C 27th September for the season 13 premiere
