Criminal Minds Evolution Season 19 Episode 1 & 2 Review

 Criminal Minds Evolution returned to  paramount plus in the USA today, with a 2 episode preimire, with fans having to wait almost a year for the shows return, Will the show's 19th season be worth the wait? 

The anticipated show returns with its regular cast AJ Cook, Paget Brewster, Aisha Tyler, Kirsten Vangsness, Joe Mantegna, Adam Rodriguez, Ryan James Hatanaka alongside the recurring role of serial killer Elias Voit played by Zach Gildord , 4 seasons, and the team is still mixed up with Voit. 

Season 19 episodes 1, "Now and Then." The show opens with a recap of season 18, and boy, did it hit the emotions. 

The opening scene left nothing to the imagination of what would happen to 3 graduate students traveling On a quiet road at night on the roads, What could go wrong? meeting their fate along the way, after getting run off the road, the trio is kidnapped by 2 men who are filming the encounter. 

Rossi and prentiss are working hard at the BAU and learn more agents are being cut from the FBI, Rossi wondering why they havent made him an offer yet, Emily informing him that Rossi is intact too valuable to lose, Tara is off doing the one job none of the team wants to do, Speak with Voit.

While Garica is helping JJ move, the emotional scene shows JJ and the boys packing up the home, as they all decided moving would be a good idea, as they get ready to send Henery off to college in the fall, an emotional scene shows JJ having a moment to herself in the house, remebering the times they had with the boys and Will, who was killed off in season 18, leaving JJ and widow and a single mom to two boys. 

The team battles against the clock to locate the missing couples, and finding a previous case from 30 years prier, played by "Jeri Ryan" with the surviving victim, helping them identify the unsub. With a twist in the case, that the unsubs were twins from the first survivor filming the events for their I'll father , who is terminally ill in hospital. 

Episode 2,  "Cluster" once again gave us a weekly new case,this time ventrens dying or having been taken and having laboratories performed on them, as Luke, JJ, Tyler and Garcia work the case, Emily, Tara and Rebecca have there hands full having to work along side Voit and Bryan, that's right Bryan is back once again, but this time with a true crime podcast all about the team and siciaurs. 

Luke is struggling with his own personal battle this episode, In whixh we learn he lost his beloved best friend and dog Roxy,  

I don't know about anyone else but I am sure as he'll done with having every character lose their loved ones including there pets, will the bau team ever get a happy ending ? 

Both episodes gave us a sneak peek into the new season long unsub, will be as big and as bad as we think he will be ?
