Cold Moon Movie Review
Cold Moon Movie Review
Where do I start! I've been waiting for this movie since it was filmed back in December 2014.
As most people know I am a huge fan of Josh Stewart and we all know he's high up on doing some of the best horror movies around this one, It is an insane movie for sure!
The movie is based on the book Cold Moon In Babylon. The movie was written and directed by Griff Furst best known for writing the movie Beetlejuice.
Cold Moon is a small town in Babylon, Florida, When a young teenage girl is murdered and her family wants the killer found, strange things start happening in the town. The killer does everything to cover his tracks while getting haunted by his victims.
I really enjoyed this movie from start to end. I liked the way it was straight to the point, no messing around just a big green light from the start. The movie has a creepy vibe throughout, It's creepy and mind-blowing all at the same time. Some scenes you have to blink twice and think did that actually just happen!
The Cast, Josh Stewart, Christopher Lloyd, Candy Clark, Rachel Brooke Smith, Robbie Kay, Frank Whaley, Sara Catherine Bellamy.
The entire cast did a tremendous job through the whole movie, All their accents were on point. For me, Josh Stewart had the best performance throughout the whole movie.
Josh Stewart Plays Nathan Redfield local banker and killer, (Stewart) is best known for playing horror roles in such movies as, The Collector, The Collection, Beneath the dark, and his own written movie The Hunted.
If you love Josh Stewart, you may not like what you see, this was his most dark and evil movie yet.
For me, this was one of Josh Stewart's best roles, throughout his years on screen. Of course, he nailed the new Orleans accent as its one of his most common accents in the majority of his movie/ TV. But it was his performance that really struck me. He just played the bad guy so well. From the first time you see him on the screen you know he's not going to be friendly. I liked how you saw him try to deal with what was happening, and it turned him even more insane than he already was. He just played the creeped out scary powerful man so well.
(Josh Stewart- Nathan Redfield)
I loved his character, Nathan Redfield. He's a crazy man with an addiction to bourbon! But he's a sick man who enjoys killing and doesn't let his victims haunting him affect what he's doing! He's a man with an agenda and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He's vicious but charming. But in the end, he got what he deserved a taste of his own medicine. When the haunting starts to get him, he knows he has no way out. He even kills those he cares about most. But he was no match for the ghosts of the Larkin Family.
(Sara Catherine Bellamy- Margret Larkin)
I will say this was a hard film to watch as there were some things I will never now un-see. Like I never thought I would see Josh Stewart in long leather and a mask chopping someone's head off. That was crazy awesome!
Rachel Brooke Smith did a great job at playing Belinda Hale, young beauty in the town, Sheriff's daughter, looking after Mr. Redfield and been Nathan's lover. Her character herself seeing strange haunting's happening.
(Christopher Lloyd - James Redfield &
Rachel Brooke Smith- Belinda Hale)
Robbie Kay, Ben Redfield, did an incredible job. Playing Nathan's younger brother who gets roped into helping his brother killing the Larkin's. He was an innocent who got his life taken when his brother finally loses his mind.
There was one scene in this movie that actually made me laugh, Between (Stewart) and (Kay). When they are clearing up the bodies into the truck and he throws Jerry Larkin's (Chester Rushing) head at him and it rolls down the grass. I just thought It gave the movie a bit of a lighter vibe but also showed how insane Nathan Redfield really was.
Sandy Clark, Evelyn Larkin was my second favorite character in this movie. She was great, she was a worried grandma grieving, who would stop at nothing to get the person who killed her granddaughter naming him straight away, she stopped at nothing to get him until it cost herself and her grandson their lives.
(Candy Clark - Evelyn Larkin)
I would highly recommend everyone checks out this movie, I really enjoyed it. It's completely different from all over horror movies, It just plays with your head!
